Homebuyer and Seller Dos and Don'ts
The Globe and Mail had a nice list of Dos and Don'ts for Home Buyers and Sellers the other day and I thought it was worth posting.
Advice for sellers:
- Get started right away. Don't wait for the spring season.
- Under-price your home by just a little (ask for $349,000 instead of $359,000).
- Plan renovations smartly, don't be afraid to be unique.
Advice for buyers:
- Reserve your interest rate with your lender for as long as possible to ensure that you keep the best rate.
- Remember that just because the bank lends you a certain amount of money that you may not be able to afford the payments when interest rates rise.
- Use a mortgage broker.
